Appear Online Only to Selected Friends:

Facebook chat is one of the coolest and most useful features in FB. My dilemma, however, was how to limit the number of people I chat with every time I log in. I certainly can’t accommodate them all but I don’t want them to feel like I’m rejecting them when I don’t send them a reply. I didn’t know back then that it is possible to appear online only to a few selected friends. A friend of mine actually gave me this idea which I’m sure would be of use to you, too.
Here’s how to do it:
Go to Chat found at the lower right side of the page and then, click on gear icon and click on advanced settings. A window would pop-up, now in the field which says “Turn on chat for all friends, except..” start adding your friends name, for whom you don’t want to appear online. With this, you now appear completely invisible to them. Try it now.

Changing fonts on Facebook status:

Change Facebook status font
And I’m saving the best for the last. By default your status update have only one font, but you can always use 3rd party service to change the font of your status update. Here is a cool website which you can use to change font for your Facebook status updates.
I hope you have enjoyed all Fb tricks mentioned above. We will keep sharing more cool Facebook tips in future, don’t forget to join us on Facebook.

How To Block and Unblock Someone on Facebook

Today’s Tip: How To Block Someone on Facebook
Well, it’s official you definitely need to get rid of that person who is harrassing you on facebook. Or maybe they’re not even bothering you but the mere fact that they can see what you and your friends write on your facebook wall, is driving you absolutely crazy. If you want to get rid of that psycho ex, or that friend who betrayed you, here’s how to completely block them.
*Note: Blocking someone on facebook is completely different from unfriending them. When you unfriend someone they can still type in your name in the search bar and see whatever your profile picture is, among other things -depending on your settings. Blocking someone, means they cannot find you whatsoever, no matter how many different ways they type in your name. It doesn’t matter if you’re friends with the same friends, once they are blocked, they cannot even see what your mutual friend and you are discussing. To block someone on facebook, is actually the safest way to really get rid of someone you don’t want knowing anything about you on facebook. (For the smart ones, certain people you may want to block, if you know they have facebook accounts, would be your HR person at work, your boss, etc. you get the picture.)
So, here’s how to block someone on facebook -when on a computer, go to that person’s profile page and scroll to the bottom of their wall, where it says “report/block this person”. Or if you’re not friends with the person simply type in their name in the search bar and when their profile comes up  *you may not be able to view their wall depending on their own settings, but there will be an option right under their picture to “report/block this person”. It will confirm the person’s name, explain to you that you won’t be able to see or contact eachother via facebook, and will ask you if you want to give a reason for why they are being blocked. This is optional, you don’t have to give a reason if you don’t want to.
Another way to block someone on facebook, especially if you’re on your cell phone, is to go to your profile page, click where it says privacy settings, and click block lists on the bottom in the middle. There is a place to enter a person’s name or email address and again when they pop up you would click block, and it will ask to confirm.
By going this particular route, (privacy settings to block lists) this option can work both ways, meaning if you’ve already blocked someone this is where you would go to unblock them. So for that ridiculous fight you had with your best friend and now you’ve made amends, and want to unblock her, you would go here too.) So click block lists, choose the person who you want to unblock, and click “unblock”. When you click this it will ask to confirm and you click yes. You will have to send them an add request to be your friend on facebook, but once unblocked they are now able to do what anyone else can depending on your settings.
Good Luck & Enjoy :)

Make Facebook Photos & Posts Private

Do you have private pictures of yourself or your family on Facebook which you don't want the entire world to see? This guide will help you change your Facebook privacy settings to only allow your friends or people you know to see your Facebook photos (and everything else you do). You can even customize the privacy settings of individual albums to share them with a small group of people like your co-workers or relatives.

Make Facebook Photos & Posts Private
There are three ways in which you can do this. Either, you can customize each wall post's or photo's settings individually, or set the preferences for specific albums or use a general setting for all posts and photos you have.

1: Choosing an individual wall post's or photo's privacy settings

While posting your photo or post, click on the down arrow left to the post button. Select Custom from the drop-down menu. Using the pop-up, select who you wish to make a post visible to. You can select if you wish to show a post to friends, friends of friends or specific people or a specific list of people.

Make Facebook Photos Private
Select Custom Privacy Options
You can even hide a photo from specific people or a list of people. This will be especially useful in situations where you don't want your colleagues to see a certain picture that makes fun of them or something similar. Normally, when someone is tagged in a photo, every friend of that Facebook user gets to know about it. So, if you chose to make a photo visible to friends and someone is tagged in that picture, all their friends will see that image. To prevent this, uncheck the Friends of those tagged checkmark.

Facebook Pictures & Posts Private

2: Limiting the Audience for an entire album

This is much similar to setting the audience for an individual picture. Just go to your albums, click on the Settings icon on the bottom right of the album whose privacy settings you wish to customize. Then select Custom from the drop down menu. The options Facebook offers are almost the same as those for an individual photo, however there is one difference.

Private Pictures Facebook Posts

All those people who are tagged and their friends would still be able to see the photos in your album. To prevent this, you will have to change the privacy settings of each individual photo.

Facebook photos & posts privacy settings

3: Making all your Photos and Posts Private

This is the permanent solution against worrying about your Facebook content. However, it doesn't offer much customization options and should only be used if you are sure how you will use Facebook. This is a 2 step process and involves customizing the audience for your past posts as well as those you will make in future.

Step 1: Limiting Past Posts & Photos
Go to your Privacy Settings, and then go to "Limit the audience for posts you've shared with friends of friends or Public?." Then click on the "Limit Old Posts" button. In the pop-up, click Confirm. This is a permanent change and cannot be undone. However, all those tagged and their friends would still be able to see your posts. To prevent this, you will have to change each post's settings individually.

Step 2: Limiting Future Posts and Photos

Facebook Content & Photos Private

While in the privacy center, click on "Who can see your future posts?" This will open a non-functional status update box. However, the privacy options that open when clicking on the down arrow right next to the post button are functional and act as global defaults for the content you post on Facebook in the future. Make sure to select friends if you only wish to share content with your friends. You can however, change this according to your needs; but for most people, friends would be the best option. You can further improve your privacy by selecting Custom and then unchecking the check box that appears next to "Friends of those tagged". This will customize your Facebook settings to show your Facebook activity only to your friends and those tagged.

You can also select who gets tagged in your content to further prevent your content from appearing in front of unwanted eyes. To do this, go to your Privacy Settings from the Settings icon located at the top right of the blue Facebook bar. Then, in Privacy Settings, click on Timeline and Tagging. Then under, "How can I manage tags people add and tagging suggestions?", select Enabled to review tags that friends add to your posts.

Facebook's privacy settings take some time to adjust but once you are done, you will never have to worry about your content ending up in front of unwanted users.

Hide Seen in Facebook

Hide seen in Facebook is a tipical problem.
In facebook when you read messsage the seen button shows that your friends ,you read the message .So if you wanna get rid off it try this.

Try Facebook Unseen Extension. This extension is avalible for Google Chrome Browser.

Description

Blocks the ”seen” feature of the facebook messenger.

Facebook Unseen is a diminutive add-on for Google Chrome that blocks Facebook's read receipts from being sent.

If you don't want to have your friends knowing when or if you've read their messages, Facebook Unseen is the perfect extension to block those pesky read receipts. While others may find it handy, it can be cumbersome if you have a friend who expects you to reply immediately.

Once this add-on is installed, there's nothing really much you need to do. Facebook Unseen is a small add-on that doesn't take up much room, as it only has to block a single line of code to disable read receipts from Facebook.

One cool feature of Facebook Unseen is the ability to manually mark a message as read, giving you absolute control over who sees when you've read a message. This feature will help to make it look less suspicious to your friends if you reply without the read receipt showing up first.

Overall, Facebook Unseen is a simple but effective add-on that gives users more control over read receipts in Facebook chat.

Facebook Hacks: 9 Tips And Tricks To Get Your Posts On Top Of The Newsfeed

Facebook Inc. has gradually made a number of changes to the algorithm that governs the way users see posts in their news feeds, making some more visible than others. The social network, by instituting a series of rules, is essentially asking for them to be broken (or at least bent a little), and marketers are more than happy to do it.
So take some tips from the pros. Here are nine ways to ensure your post is visible, thanks to social-media marketing mavens:

1. Congratulations. Congrats. Kudos. Facebook loves big life events like anniversaries, graduations, births and career changes. The way Facebook sees it, people like to see those kinds of posts, and they allow the poster to feel positive about themselves and their experience with Facebook, making the service feel more important to them. Congratulating someone or something in your post is a surefire way to make sure your post is seen by all.

2. Avoid asking friends or followers to like, share or comment on your post. An algorithm change Facebook made in August to weed out spammy posts will now automatically lower those that beg for likes and shares. It also makes you reek of desperation, which just looks bad.

3. Get your friends or followers to like, share or comment on your post. While you shouldn’t ask for it, posting things your friends care about now has the opposite effect. Posts that get several likes or comments may even appear in your friends’ news feeds more than once.

4. Use trending topics. This is quite the opposite of a natural or “organic” method of improving a Facebook post’s popularity, but Facebook really wants to be one of the ways you get your news. Adding information about a trending topic can be one way to improve a post's visibility.
One interesting thing that we have noticed in our social-networking adventures: Not everyone sees the same trending topics. Tech geeks see more technology stories and gossip queens more celebrity. So try to aim for something interesting to a wide range of people.

5. Include plenty of links. Facebook’s algorithm considers posts with one or several links to web pages as indicative of someone who is sharing about a recent news story or has otherwise done a bit of research. Make sure you let Facebook turn your most visual or important link into a “preview,” which it automatically does when you copy and paste a website’s URL.

6. Avoid using angry or negative language. A much-maligned experiment run by Facebook found that users who saw happy posts were more likely to share. The company has incorporated that experiment into its algorithm and currently makes posts that are overtly negative less visible. As your mother may have told you, if you can’t say anything nice, include a reference to a trending topic.

7. Include multiple pictures in your post. Facebook thinks these kinds of posts are about a recent vacation or an important life event, and brings them to the top of your friends’ news feeds.

8. Time your post sometime between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Most people are active at those times, with peaks right after 9 a.m. (when people arrive at work), 12 p.m. (lunchtime Facebook-time), 5 p.m. and before bed at 9 p.m. or later. Saturdays are also a popular time for Facebook use as well.

9. Use it or lose it. Facebook gives users (and brands and media outlets, as well) more visibility if they use the service more often, as opposed to people who post infrequently. So make sure you post regularly – at least once or twice a day.

How about those night owls? Tap into your inner scientist and experiment by posting on your Facebook feed during different times throughout the day (and night). Different studies will point to different conclusions, but the truth is, results will vary depending on the kind of users your brand attracts. The only way to ensure optimal engagement is through old-fashioned trial and error. While I would never suggest anyone automate their posting, if you feel like you have to, Facebook now offers a scheduling tool so you can deliver late-night posts without disturbing your own beauty sleep. But keep in mind that when a company makes a post, people assume there's someone there live. If you don't reply back or address the issue because it was a scheduled post and you aren't actually there, you look bad.

2. Let the people speak. Launching a new product? Deciding on a new design? Ask your fans for their input and actually act on their feedback. Whether you ask them to vote on a new logo or product color, use their input to reasonably guide the direction of your next business decision. Not only will it increase your audience's brand loyalty, it also helps you get a sense of what your fan base wants.

3. Take a picture--it'll last longer. More importantly, pictures are shared more. In fact, one study showed that picture posts receive twice as much engagement as posts with just text or links. Fans' news feeds are constantly cluttered with friends and business pages, so including a photo or graphic with your content helps your post stand out. And you don't need an expensive camera: Download Instagram to your smartphone to instantly snap and upload shots to your Facebook page.

4. Be your own biggest fan. In order to fully understand the latest trends and fads on Facebook, you have to actually use Facebook outside of your business page. So if you haven't already, it's time to join the rest of the world and create a personal Facebook account. This will allow you to see how fans are seeing your own business as well as what the competition is doing and how other users are innovating online.

5. Get your fans off Facebook ... and onto your email list. By giving fans an incentive to subscribe to your email list, you can expand your touch points. Keep your Facebook content upbeat and fun, while saving more targeted marketing and upselling for your email campaigns. The results will speak for themselves.

6. A call to action. Because you don't want your Facebook fans to visit once and then leave, place a "call to action" graphic on your page's tab. It can be something as simple as "Like Us!" with arrows pointing toward the like button. Make it easy for visitors to convert into fans by giving them every opportunity to add you to their feeds.

7. Hide and seek. Make people want what you have: Create content that's exclusive to fans only, which will encourage visitors to like your page. This could be special product information, interviews, menus--whatever fits in with your particular business.
There are a couple of ways to do it (and it keeps changing) via existing apps of custom FBML (Facebook Markup Language). Easiest method I've found is to do a Google search for "Static FBML app." Some of them have the built-in ability to provide exclusive content only to people who have liked your page.
Here's the coding.

8. But be easy to find. Create a vanity URL for your Facebook business page. This makes you more discoverable so that your fans can just go to www.facebook.com/yourbusinessname. Just go to www.facebook.com/ to update your business page name.

9. Post weekly pins. Not to be confused with a Pinterest pin, Facebook allows businesses to pick one post a week to be featured at the top of your page. So whatever information you're trying to push each week, be it a sale or promotion or event, be sure to anchor it to the top of your timeline. It's very simple: Just hover over the post you've selected to anchor, click the pencil icon, and select "Pin to Top." These pins expire every seven days, which makes it a great way to highlight your most up-to-date posts.

10. Show off your milestones. Facebook milestones don't just have to be about relationship updates or graduations. Highlight your company's accomplishments, whether it's an anniversary, meeting a fan growth goal or launching a new product. You can create a milestone in the status update box, then fill in information such as date and location. Be sure to add a picture with each one!
